About Canada Tax Planner

Canada Tax Planner is a free, web-based Canadian income tax calculator that computes federal and provincial income tax, CPP/QPP contributions, EI premiums, and government benefits across all 13 Canadian provinces and territories. It uses the CRA T4127 Payroll Deductions Formulas (122nd Edition, 2026) for federal tax and the other provinces and territories, and Revenu Québec formulas for Quebec, to estimate take-home pay, marginal rates, and optimization opportunities.

Accuracy

  • Built on published formulas: CRA T4127 (122nd Edition, January 2026) for federal tax and the other provinces and territories; Revenu Québec (TP-1015.F-V, 2026) for Quebec. The tax engine implements them
  • Checked automatically: reference cases worked by hand from the published formulas
  • Compared with TaxTips.ca figures for employees at six income levels in every province and territory except Quebec

Quebec tax comes from Revenu Québec (TP-1015.F-V, 2026 source-deduction formulas), QPP from Retraite Québec, and QPIP from the Québec government rate table. Rates are reviewed when the publishers issue updated tables.
