Our Commitment

CanadaTaxPlanner is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all users.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide array of disabilities. Conforming to these guidelines also helps make content more usable for all people.

This website also strives to meet the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Accessible Canada Act.

Measures Taken

  • Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy
  • Skip-to-content link for keyboard navigation
  • ARIA labels on interactive elements and landmarks
  • Color contrast ratios meeting WCAG 2.1 AA (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • Touch targets of at least 44x44 pixels on mobile
  • Focus-visible indicators on all interactive elements
  • Keyboard navigable interface (no mouse required)
  • Respects prefers-reduced-motion user preference
  • Responsive design from 320px to 1440px viewport widths
  • Form inputs with associated labels and error messages
  • Automated accessibility testing integrated into CI pipeline

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas may not yet be fully accessible:

  • Some chart visualizations (Recharts) may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We provide equivalent data in table format where possible.
  • PDF exports may not meet PDF/UA accessibility standards.
  • Some third-party embedded content may not meet all accessibility standards.

We are actively working to address these limitations.
