Quick rules

RRSP wins when your tax rate drops in retirement (most common for high earners).

TFSA wins when your rate stays the same or rises (early career, low income now).

Both? If you can, contribute to both. Max the RRSP for the refund, then put the refund into the TFSA.

With kids? An RRSP deduction lowers your AFNI, which increases your CCB. This tips the scale toward the RRSP.
